Zero 7 is back!!!!

Hi to all of you partying in Austin this week for SXSW! Drink a few for Sherman, will ya!!!!?? Check out the Austinist for updates throughout the non-stop Red Bull induced music marathon!!

Woke up to word that Zero 7 released the first single from the upcoming release The Garden (out May 15th in the UK)! It is only available in the UK at the moment, but sneaky people can find it for download. It's great. Jose Gonzalez provides vocals on "Futures". The single features a b-side with vocals from Sia! (hope you have your tix to her show at the Crocodile April 7th)

Look for J Dilla's release The Shining due out in July! This album was complete at the time of his death and will be released by his mother and collaborator Karriem Riggins. He put them both in charge of this during his illness. Look for appearances by Madlib, Busta Rhymes and Common.

Heard an amazing piece of music last night. Guitar's Tokyo on Onitor. This is gorgeous! (thanks eb) A beautiful combination of Western Pop and traditional Japanese music. The sounds of Koto and Pipa guitars, pop sensibilities and the addition of vocals provided by Ayako Akashiba result in sounds I can't stop listening to. This will appeal to anyone who favors sparse beauty and delicate instrumentation. This is a must hear record!!!! This is what Sherman's Tokyo would sound like!!! Look at the CD cover too. (awwwwwww.....)

Lots of great tunes out there right now. Sherman is lovin' the following:

Isolee - Western Shore
Chicken Lips - Making Faces
Neko Case - Fox Confessor Brings the Flood
Iron Chefs (Daly City Records)
Roy Ayers - Virgin Ubiquity Remixed
Fila Brazillia - Retrospective (1990-2006)
Ellen Allien & Apparat - Orchestra of Bubbles

Can't get enough of the Agriculture Label right now!!! QPE's Boolean Logic is out of this world. I have yet to hear a bad track from these folks out of Brooklyn! You can't go wrong with this label!!! Hit their site and take a listen to all they have to offer.

Ok gang, some news from Sherman now. Looks like this may not be a daily blog for awhile. There is an overwhelming amount of "stuff" happening at the moment which makes it tough to give a daily fix. We'll do our best to continue to fill your ears with music and you hearts with a smile, but it just may not happen each and every day. Thanks for understanding! It's all good, right??!!

Check out Married to the Sea from the folks who brought you Toothpaste For Dinner and Natalie Dee.

Keep your eyes peeled for the newly launched Seattle Sound Magazine!!

Sad news for Blondie fans. They are embarking on their final US tour EVER!

Check out Filter Mag's Music Appreciation Nights around the country! Very cool idea!

Thanks all!! Remember that Sherman loves you!!!!
